Three Links Outfitters, owned by Carl Montoya, offers outfitting and guide services for New Mexico big game hunting. We are a family-owned business located in west-central New Mexico. Our hunts take place primarily in Units 17 and 13. These units are exceptional because they are primitive-weapons-only units. Never having been open to high-power rifles, they have some incredible bulls for both archery and muzzleloader hunters.
Our archery Choose experienced New Mexico outfitters for the best New Mexico elk hunts. are in September, with two different hunt dates available. The youth muzzleloader elk hunt takes place around the second week of October. This is an awesome hunt because the bulls are still in the middle of the rut and are still very active. Our muzzleloader elk hunts are in the middle of October, with two dates to choose from.
What makes us different as New Mexico outfitters is the quality of our guides, the family atmosphere and the hunt size. We generally don’t take more than 8-9 hunters per hunt. This way you are insured that you are seeing animals and are having a great hunting experience. Our headquarters and bunkhouses are based on the family’s working cattle ranch. The ranch is in the middle of Unit 17--close to the hunting areas.
Our accommodations are simple. The bunkhouses are stocked with bedding and towels. 2 people typically share each room. The mornings start with a grab-and-go breakfast followed by a home-style lunch and dinner.
We also offer Unit 20 rifle antelope hunts the first weekend in October. Private land mule deer hunts take place in November.
